FC Golden State Force Announce Technical Staff for 2016 PDL Season

PASADENA, Calif. (April 12, 2016) - Ahead of their inaugural 2016 PDL season, FC Golden State Force appoints Alex Lujan as the club’s General Manager, and names Bob Oseguera, Will Lopez, Gabriel Barriga, Brent Broadhurst, and Salvador Moran “Chava” as the club’s assistant coaches. Most have played a pivotal part in So Cal Premier side, PSA Elite, a notable men's team that regularly participates in the U.S. Open Cup.

Having an extensive background in management and soccer, General Manager Alex Lujan is the perfect fit for Golden State. Lujan has managed the Irvine based soccer team, PSA Elite as the club’s President and Owner since 2002. PSA Elite historically reached the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup in 2015 before suffering a loss to LA Galaxy. The Augburg College graduate played soccer throughout his college years and has worked with organizations such as United Healthcare and the Walt Disney Corporation; currently working as a Senior Finance Manager with Experian since 2009. With an expertise in finance and development, Lujan will work alongside Jon Spencer to create a successful team on the pitch.

Joining Golden State with over 30 years of coaching experience, Bob Oseguera was also a contributing factor to the success of PSA Elite. Oseguera is in his fourth year as Head Coach of Servite’s Junior Varsity soccer team, having helped the team achieve three consecutive league championships and the school’s first CIF title in 2015.

Will Lopez enters the mix with both playing and coaching experience. Lopez has seen much playing time with Rio Hondo’s men’s soccer team and in 2010 ended the season with 19 goals and 16 assists. As a coach, Lopez led South El Monte’s girl’s varsity team to their first league championship during his first season as coach in 2009 and is currently looking to go into his fourth season as Head Assistant Coach to Rio Hondo women’s soccer team.

Gabriel Barriga joins Golden State technical staff from PSA Elite as PSA’s Assistant Coach Goalkeeper Instructor. With a full plate in 2015, Barriga was also the Goalkeeper Coach for Cal State Los Angeles women’s soccer program, Nogales High School Goalkeeper Coach for the varsity team, and Assistant Coach to the men’s soccer program at Rio Hondo. Priorly, he ran PSA Elite Reserve team as the Team Manager and Coach, winning 2nd place majors division.

Finally, Salvador Moran “Chava” completes the group as another member of the PSA Elite group as the assistant coach in the 2015 U.S. Open Cup. In 2014, Moran has also headed United Premier Soccer League side Ozzy’s Laguna and PSA Elite in their U.S. Open Cup run, making it to the fourth round of the tournament.
